The builder may restrict you to using their pre-selected finish options, but these should be fairly diverse and leave you with lots of choice.


Step 3: Adding Outdoor Features

As mentioned above, it may be possible to add outdoor features even if the interior of the home is fairly predetermined. Talk to the builder of the houses in Yucatan to see what is possible. They may contract with another company to do the work, they may do it themselves, or they may encourage you to wait and have it done after moving in.

Step 4: Choose A Plot

After you've finalized the details on your home, it's time to select the actual positioning. Generally speaking, only certain designs of houses in Yucatan can be placed on certain lots. The entire development is usually subdivided and marked according to what housing types can go where. Select one that suits your home in its entirety – including a pool, garage, etc if applicable. This must be the last step, and may be changed if you decide to change any elements of the home itself.

Following these steps will help a first time buyer adapt to the differences that exist when purchasing a partially built to suit home. Remember, you should always ask whether a certain desirable change is possible – the answer may well be no, but at least you asked!
