Create A Family Movie Night

In this day and time with the economy being what it is most Americans have turned to ways to where they can have family-friendly fun while saving their hard-earned cash. One of the best ways to do this is having an at-home family movie night. To do this, designate a night of the week where the family commits to joining and watching a movie together.

One of the first things that will need to be done is the family needs to decide on what movie is going to be watched. An idea that has been known to work well in most homes is the voting system. This is where a list of a few movies is placed in a designated area and each family member votes on what movie they would like to see. Whichever one has the most votes is the weekly choice.

On the night of the movie, everyone meets in the living room at the set time. In most homes, a major part of the movie night is the snacks provided. The most common snack of choice is popcorn. A great idea is to mix it up and have a variety of different types of popcorn seasoning. There can be cheese popcorn, butter popcorn, caramel popcorn and even ranch-flavored popcorn. If one does not know how to make gourmet popcorn, there are a variety of companies online that specialize in making gourmet popcorn and they are usually very cost-friendly. Drinks are just as important and on a warm summer night, a glass of cold lemonade or sweet tea would go great with a good movie.

Once everything is set and ready to go the family then needs to meet in the area where the movie will be shown. This could be the living room, family room, or den. Once everyone gathers, the movie can be started and everyone just sits back and enjoys. A nice snack, drink and good company completes the night and is a prime example of spending quality time with one's family or friends.

Movie night does not just have to be for families either. If one is looking for a cheap and inexpensive way to spend a night hanging out with their friends they can all get together for a friend movie night, or better yet, have a movie marathon. Pick a theme or an actor. For guys, it can be a night of action and adventure; for girls, a list of movies with their favorite heartthrob. Whatever is chosen, it will be a night to create memories.
