The Sport of Paintball

Everyone wants to be a warrior of some kind, everyone wants to be in a battle but not have to worry about getting killed. This is where paintball guns and the entire sport come in to play.

The technology in today's paintball field is quite astounding. They have grenades, rapid fire guns, special armor and special ammo carriers. Anything thought of for a standard soldier, they have for paintball. This technology allows the athlete to be immersed into the art of war and remain relatively safe, aside from a nice red welt or two.

The guns of the sport today come in all shapes and sizes. You could have a big green semi-automatic weapon with rapid fire or could use a handgun. There are even shotguns and sniper rifles that are in circulation. You really have free pick at any type of soldier class you want to pretend to be.

All this talk about paintball guns sounds pretty painful; luckily there are all kinds of armor available. The obvious and most important is a mask. The mask is pretty standard and they all look relatively the same. You can have some that have full head coverage or that just the face. Some are more meshed at the mouth than others. They actually make full protective vests for the true player. The next items would be gloves and anything extra you would want to protect.

Now we have to reload some how, we have our guns and armor and we need to start fighting. The actual paintballs come in different sized packs. You can buy a tube of 200 or get a case of 2000. They also offer paintball grenades. Just as important as the paintballs are the CO2 canisters. The logistics behind a paintball guns firing power is based of the forced from the pressurized CO2 tank. Again, you would have your choice of all sizes.

Paintball has really grown to become a sport that offers so much. The combinations of equipment are endless. It is the only way outside of video games that can actually simulate being a soldier. With all the armor that is available, it is a safe sport, much safer than football or hockey. It's good exercise, instead of playing Call of Duty or some other shooter video game by being on a couch all day and it's just plain old fun.
